Effective July 6, 2009 the following services
will be available at the Tomah Police Department:
** New title and registration, including the issuance
of license plates, for cars, light trucks and motorcycles **
** Registration Renewals **
The hours will be as follows:
Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The following information is required to
process a renewal:
- A photo form of identification, such as
a valid drivers license
- Renewal notice from Department of
Transportation
The following information is required to
process a new registration and title:
- A photo form of identification, such as
a valid drivers license
- Original Title signed and dated if
purchased from a private person In the case of a Title with a lien, a
lien
release or original Title
stamped from lender releasing same
- When requesting a new Title, with a
lien, the Secured Party's name, address and Secured Party's number
must be
provided
- Odometer reading
Registration renewals of the following:
Civilian group (CVG)
(including
firefighter, rescue squad member and emergency medical technician)
Motorcycle (CYC)
Disabled parking (DIS)
Donate Life Wisconsin (LIF)
Ducks Unlimited (DUK)
Endangered resources (END)
Firefighter (FRF)
Gold Star (GST)
University of Wisconsin higher education group (HEG)
University of Wisconsin - Madison campus (HEM)
Celebrate children (KID)
Multi-group (MGP)
(including
freemason and Lao veteran)
Military group (MLG)
Green Bay Packer (PAK)
Sesquicentennial (SES)
Wisconsin Salutes Veterans (SPT)
Wisconsin National Guard (WNG)
The following Registration Renewals and/or
services CANNOT be processed at the Tomah Police Department. Subjects
wishing to complete said transactions must do so at the Onalaska Service
Center:
- Expired and/or suspended registrations
- Registration of a vehicle which has been
REMOVED from the roadway
- Registration of a vehicle which has been
REPOSSESSED
- Registration of a vehicle with an
identification number of less than 17 digits
- Registration of a vehicle purchased
within 89 days and sales tax was fully or partially paid in another
state
- Registration of a vehicle with the
Application for Title indicating more than two owners or lessees
- Registration of heavy trucks
- Registration of a vehicle which has
Driver Education Vehicle information entered on the record
- Registration of a vehicle from a family
trust
- Registration of a vehicle from a living
trust
- Registration of a vehicle from any other
type of trust
- Registration of a vehicle with
personalized plates
- Replacement titles
** A service
fee of $10 for each renewal transaction and $19.50 for each title
transaction will be applied. Payment in the form of cash, check or money
order is accepted. **
