Obstructing
Details: On 06/09/08 at approximately 9:50 PM a Tomah Police Officer on
patrol observed a vehicle operated by Grider traveling in excess of the
posted speed limit and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on State
Highway 21 approximately ½ mile east of the City of Tomah. Once the
vehicle came to a stop Grider fled from the vehicle and jumped into a
swampy area on the south side of the highway.
Other Tomah Police Department personnel responded to assist and were
able to see Grider hiding behind a clump of vegetation approximately 50
yards from shore in approximately four feet of water. Grider then
disappeared from view and refused to respond to officers' attempts at
dialogue with him.

Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Department contacted Blackhawk
at her residence and Blackhawk told the deputies that she did not know
who was driving her vehicle and stated that her vehicle was stolen.
Tomah Fire Department personnel responded to the scene with a small
boat. Officers from the Tomah Police Department traveled to the area
where Grider was last seen and found him attempting to hide in the
vegetation. Officers escorted Grider to the shore and he was taken into
custody without incident.
Grider was booked at the Monroe County Jail on the above listed charges
and Dane County, WI authorities reported that there was an arrest
warrant issued for Grider on 06/09/08 when he failed to appear for a
court hearing.
The investigation revealed that Blackhawk had provided false information
to law enforcement in reference to her vehicle being stolen. Blackhawk
was arrested by Monroe County Sheriff's Department personnel and also
booked at the Monroe County Jail.
